Decentralized Directorate of Culture of Ica

Ica's DDC is divided into four areas:

Legal Advisory       

The area of Legal Counsel is responsible for conducting legal and administrative for the Defence of Cultural Heritage of the nation, as archaeological sites eviction actions (complaints involvement). In the same vein, also responsible for the development of Regional Directorial Resolution Authorization for approval of plans Archaeological Monitoring. They also advise the offices and technical areas of the DDC in Ica legal and administrative aspects. Assume the defense of the institution legal issues, prepare reports, and consultations absolve legal matter raised by the Regional Directorate.                                                                                           

Historical, Colonial and Republican Heritage

This area is responsible for proposing to the Directorate of Heritage Colonial and Republican (DPHCR) the declaration as Cultural Heritage of the Nation on buildings, urban environments and urban areas in the Ica region warrant. Should assess and issue technical review of the drafts and / or architectural projects on buildings declared monuments or members of monumental urban environments.

Archaeological Heritage          

This area takes supervision to research and evaluation, and archeological monitoring plans. Responsible for issuing Certificates and Absence of Archaeological Remains (CIRAS), surveys by affectations archaeological heritage of the region, the registration of new archaeological sites and the protection and defense of archaeological and paleontological sites. In the same vein also provides advice and support on projects of enhancement of archaeological monuments developed by the regional government, local governments and others.                                                                                         

Arts and Access to Culture

The area of ​​Arts and Cultural Access is responsible for encouraging cultural creation, make alliances between DDC Ica and public and private organizations that strengthen and promote culture in all its diversity. Similarly, has the function of supporting the cultural industries, undertaking advocacy and cultural diffusion as contests to promote reading in school.                                                                                               

Ica's Regional Museum                                                                               

The Regional Museum of Ica is responsible for the inventory, maintenance and preservation of the collections, maintained and updated systematic registration of all movable and private collections in the region. Similarly, it is also responsible for the reception and care of museum visitors, and the activities that take place in this room. For this year 2013, the Museum has launched Project Registry, Preventive Conservation and Conditioning textiles exhibition in the collection of the Museum of Paracas Site Julio C. Tello, Grant Fund U.S. Ambassador 2012.
