Decentralized Directorate of Culture of Madre de Dios

The Decentralized Directorate of Culture of Madre de Dios is responsible for planning, organization and implementation of conservation and promotion of cultural heritage of the region through various activities and in coordination with public and private institutions.

Proyects

  • The enhancement of the Petroglyphs Pusharo. 
  • Creating music workshops to form the Youth Orchestra of the Mother of God. 
  • Proposal for a declaration as to the Indigenous Cultural Heritage Dance The Feast of the Sons of the Harambut Wanamei Village, the community of Puerto Luz. 
  • The construction of the Amazonian Ethnographic Museum of Madre de Dios.

Activities

Educational concerts by the Symphony Orchestra of Cusco

The Regional Directorate of Culture of Mother of God has been scheduled to perform with the presentation of the Symphony Orchestra of Cusco, with educational concerts for all the youth of the region, to be held in the auditorium of the Amazon National University of Madre de Dios (UNAMAD ) and in the main square of Puerto Maldonado. These concerts are aimed at young people aged 13 to 25 years. (Check the schedule at the offices of the DDC) 

Cultural Fridays 

This activity takes place every Friday in squares and parks with students from different schools, colleges and universities, each institution has artistic numbers for all youth and the general public. It targets young adults between 14-35 years.
