Decentralized Directorate of Culture of Puno

The Decentralized Directorate of Culture of Puno's mission is to identify, record, inventory, research, conserve, restore and disseminate the cultural heritage of the nation as property and intangible assets, to contribute to regional and national development with the participation of the community, the private sector and intersectoral.
 
The Puno's DRC is organized into the following units of work:
 
  • Management
  • Area of Administration
  • Area of Legal Advisory
  • Area of Colonial and Republican Historical Heritage
  • Area of Archaeology
  • Area of Cultural Industries and Art
  • Area of Museums and Chattels
  • Secretariat

History

By National Directorial Resolution, signed by Dr. Martha Hildebrandt TraVino, National Director of the National Institute of Culture in the government of General Juan Velasco Alvarado, the Coordination Office of the National Culture Institute was established, located in the city of Puno, the December 13, 1974. During 2010, the INC transferred its functions to the Ministry of Culture.

District of Juli, Province of Chucuito.
Artistic historical cultural heritage of the Colonial Era is exhibited.
 
Lytic Museum PUKARA
District of Pucará, Province of Lampa
Archaeological cultural heritage of the Pukara culture as ceramic, stone shown, among other pieces.
 
Site Museum of the Archaeological Comlex Cutimbo
District and Province of Puno
The museum exhibits archeological cultural property as ceramic culture developed in the region.
 
Archaeological Complex Sillustani
District of Atuncolla, Province of Puno
This archaeological site was declared Cultural Patrimony of the Nation on 16 March 2003.
 
Archaeological Complex Cutimbo
District and Province of Puno
This archaeological site was declared Cultural Patrimony of the Nation on July 17, 2011.
 
Archaeological Complex of Pukará Culture
District of Pucará, Province of Lampa
This archaeological site was declared Cultural Patrimony of the Nation on October 4, 2001.
